Meet at the Parkman Bandstand
On June 6th, 2025, the 81st Anniversary of D-Day, Mass 50501 will hold an event in remembrance of our heroes in uniform, past and present, as part of a nationwide series of “No Kings” events.
Our mission is to preserve the democracy they fought—and in many cases died—to protect on the shores of Normandy. The event will feature speakers who are veterans, sharing their beliefs about history, duty, honor, sacrifice, and patriotism. We will conduct a wreath-laying ceremony at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on the Boston Common, accompanied by the playing of “Taps,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” and other songs dedicated to our country.
We come together to protest cuts to the VA and oppose the undemocratic actions of the current administration. At the same time, we will reaffirm our support for our allies and recommit to the principles that have guided our nation and its military for centuries. On this solemn anniversary, we will remind the people that veterans and active duty military personnel swore to protect the nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
This event—“No Kings On D-Day”—is both a protest and a solemn commemoration. It honors the sacrifice of our heroes while standing up for the values of democracy and justice. Join us for an evening of reflection, solidarity, and action.
Flags are welcome, but please leave protest signs at home.
