10/29 Workshop: Activism That Works

We welcome you to Mass 50501’s biweekly workshop series, featuring Anne Wright and Betsy Leondar-Wright presenting “Activism That Works.”

Betsy Leondar-Wright, PhD, is a longtime economic justice activist whose graduate studies examined what makes social movements succeed. She is the author of several books, most recently Is It Racist? Is It Sexist?. Anne Wright is a longtime social justice activist who has focused on anti-intervention and environmental justice movements for over 40 years, as well as voter registration and education for low-income youth. She and her sister co-edit Don’t Mourn, Organize – Eastern Mass, a Substack e-newsletter sharing action alerts for progressives in Greater Boston.

Of the many action alerts you come across, which are actually the most effective? If you’re upset about the direction of our country and asking yourself that question, then this workshop is for you. This presentation will lay out three key principles of effective activism and invite discussion on how to apply them to today’s movement for democracy. Please join us on Wednesday, October 29 at 7 p.m. using this link: https://hub.mass50501.org/apps/bbb/b/3pNPm8zrssBfSNT6
